Severe Weather Awareness Week!

As you may already know, our town is participating in Severe Weather Awareness Week, which has included testing of the outdoor sirens and which provides you and every community member with an easy way to receive notification of emergencies right away. Do you ever wish there was an easier way to quickly receive severe weather alerts and more? Fortunately, it’s easier than you think!

What Is This?

Severe Weather Awareness Week is an effort to help ensure that our state and our community are prepared to act quickly, respond, and seek shelter (if necessary) in the case of severe weather like a tornado. Included in the week is your ability to sign up for immediate alerts from the mass notification system, NotifyJoCo.

How Do I Sign Up?

It’s very simple. Any resident or visitor of Johnson County can text to join the system to receive notifications by doing the following:

What Types Of Alerts Will I Receive?

You can expect to receive notifications letting you know of everything from fire alerts and flood alerts to severe weather, road closures, and more!

If texting is not going to work for you, you may sign up to receive notifications through other means, such as your landline, email, etc. Visit www.notifyjoco.com to set up the details.
