Teeth Whitening Offers Major Results

Do you wish your teeth could be much brighter, perhaps by as much as eight shades? If so, then talk to our team about professional teeth whitening! In today’s blog, Dr. Robert M. Browne talks about how we remove unsightly stains with our custom take-home teeth whitening kit.

The Need for Teeth Whitening

If you have unsightly yellow or brown stains on the surfaces of your teeth, you could feel uncomfortable with your appearance. Instead of being embarrassed and hiding your smile, why not seek a solution? While strips and toothpastes can offer minor results, these tend to be very short-lived. But we could offer more dramatic results, which can last far longer, with our at-home teeth whitening kit!

Our Take-Home Trays and Gel

The process starts with an initial office visit. Our team will take a close look at your stains to assess the severity and decide if this is the best route for you. If so, we will take images and impressions of your bite to design and craft a set of custom plastic trays, which fit directly over your teeth. We then send these home with you, accompanied by several plastic syringes of bleaching gel. At home, you simply add the gel to the trays and wear them daily as instructed, usually for about an hour each day. The trays ensure the gel is spread evenly over your teeth and prevent saliva from diluting the results. After a week to ten days, your teeth could be eight shades brighter.

You can then keep the trays and any remaining gel if you want to conduct touch-ups in the months to come to keep your smile bright!

Tips for Keeping Teeth Brighter for Longer

Along with using your trays and bleaching gel, you can also take other steps to help your new results truly last. For example, you can take time to brush and floss daily, which helps control plaque buildup and keep smiles bright. Cutting back on the sugar and starch in your diet does the same, so we recommend a healthier diet and plenty of water! You can also avoid drinks with dark pigments that stain teeth, such as coffee, red wine, soda, and tea. You can follow these with some water to help rinse away the staining tannins. You should also avoid tobacco products!
