Is There A Gardener Inside of You?

Do you have a green thumb itching to spring into action? Are you willing to maintain organic principals when you garden? Would you like to meet new friends, and celebrate with a Summer Solstice potluck and a tomato tasting? If you answered yes to any (or all) of those questions, consider signing up and tilling a plot in the Prairie Village Community Gardens!

How Do I Sign Up for Plot?

You can fill out the application online. Returning gardeners have first priority, and new gardeners are put on a list and notified as plots become available.

Where are the Garden Plots Located?

Garden plots can be found at Harmon Park (77th and Delmar) and at Global Montessori (75th and Belinder). Each plot is 4′ by 20′, which means 80 square feet of growing space. If you think that sounds like too much, you can share a plot with someone else. If you find you have more zucchini (or anything else) than you can eat, please consider donating to a local food pantry or other charity of your choice.

Should I Start Planting Immediately?

The sign up window for a plot begins in January, 2018. However, growing season in our area begins about April 1, so you have plenty of time to choose your plants and seeds!
